New Tour Dates

in

Hello, friends. Hope this finds you well. We're stoked little monkeys to have some dates to announce this month and next. Three Toronto shows, SXSW and a hockey game.

Well be playing acoustically at XM's shindig in Austin so if you're down south come by and say hi.

Our gig at Cherry Cola's in Toronto is long awaited. We've been known to frequent this establishment now and again so to be finally making some noise of our own there during CMW / CMF is pretty rad. Cherish and Glenn run a sweet spot and Sunday nights can be especially solid hangs.

Fresh off a successful run of north american tour dates with pixie queen Juliette Lewis, followed by a whirlwind tour of Ontario with Die Mannequin, Dearly Beloved is proud to share with the world a brand new video for the song "Make It Bleed" directed by Sammy Rawal (New Pornographers, The Pack AD, Bonjay) of Revolver Film Company.

More tour dates are in the works for both sides of the border early in the new year but in the meantime you can catch Dearly Beloved in select Ontario cities with Die Mannequin. Also just announced is DB will be supporting My Chemical Romance as part of 102.1 The Edge's Jingle Bell Rock Series later in December.

If you haven't done so already be sure to pick up this hard-working band's most recent Canadian release They Will Take Up Serpents.

"... Dearly Beloved's five song They WIll Take Up Serpents might be the best pure blast of radio-ruling non-lame modern rock since Queens of The Stone Age's Songs For The Deaf."

HFI pub party

The HFI hockey pool party contest was a great success with almost 100 entries!

The lucky winner, Sean McDermott, was thrilled. He found out about the contest through an e-newsletter from our media parter Toro Magazine.

Last night my colleague and I, Sean and his 8 friends, and Rob Higgins, congregated at The Bottom Line sports bar at Yonge and Front. It was a fantastic venue for our event and owner Wayne Cowley (former NHL-er) was a gracious host and provided us with a prix fixe menu that included such delicious items as Kobe beef burgers and oven roasted chicken with Portobello mushrooms!

Over beers, and interspersed with conversation about the upcoming NHL season, Rob helped the members of Sean’s pool make their drafts for their hockey pool offering sage advice and words of wisdom about which players to choose…and which to avoid!

“The HFI system makes Higgins a first-ballot inductee into the fantasy sports Hall of Fame.”
– Joe Thistel, Director of Programming, Sports & Talk, XM Canada

Rob Higgins knows he can help you win your hockey pool. “Shenanigans,” you’re thinking. “Fool’s gold,” you’re assuming. With all the stats and injuries and real-life trades, a fantasy-win seems more luck than anything. But, believe in Rob. As a fantasy hockey columnist for The Toronto Sun, co-host of XM Radio’s The Point: Fantasy Friday, and a lifelong fantasy junkie, Rob actually manages to make a real living off make-believe GM’ing. It’s neither shenanigans nor fool’s gold. Rob just spends hours and hours watching games. A lot of hours.
